Greetings in the name of Christ from the saints in Ghana. The day started off well. The shower was warm and there was water pressure. The scrambled egg with onions was warm but the toast was cold and dry as always. The ride to the seminary went smoothly and only took twenty minutes.
The class went well today. Two more students arrived. There are still two missing. One's wife was at a women's conference in northern Ghana and was scheduled to get home tonight. The other has a wife in the hospital. There were two group presentations. They did well but should improve as the class goes on.
We did not leave the seminary until 5. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Malindi's Pub and Grill directly across the street from the Triple Crown where I stay. They had a good hot and spicy chicken but I ordered the overcooked hot and spicy pork. My food choices continue to be a problem.
At dinner we discussed traffic and housing in the Accra area. I was told that to get an apartment in Accra you need to advance from three months to one year rent. On top of that there are waiting lists for apartments that are a year or longer. The expense has driven many into the outer areas, as far as 60 km away. Of course, that makes traffic even worse as there are only a few main roads.
Preparations are in full swing for the big funeral on Saturday. Lutherans will be coming from all over the country to give thanks to God for the man who was so much a part of the founding of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana. I may also go as an observer.
The Lord be with all of you.
