I just returned to my room for the evening. Gordon has a wedding rehearsal but has taken me to eat every night before returning home. Tonight we had peanut soup again but with goat meat in it this time. The goat meat is like beef in look but has a nice distinct taste of its own. I would eat it again. We had fufu with it. It is made from kasava and plantain. They are both peeled and then thoroughly cooked. They are mashed separately and then finally mashed together. The men do the mashing because it is so hard to mash them. The result is a doughy loaf that you put in the soup, The odd thing is you do not chew it. There is no taste. You swallow chunks of it whole with the soup. It is almost like the texture of mashed potatoes as it slides down your throat. In addition, Gordon got us an order of banku. With it he got some peanut soup with tuna in it. There was too much food. All of it was very good but Gordon had leftovers..
My discovery about Ghana today involved the electricity. Emmanuel came into the office to tell Gordon that the electricity was used up. It seems that because people were not paying monthly bills, they have a pay as you go system just like their cell phones. They go to an office and buy a card with a code. They then enter the code and use it until the electricity expires. The seminary will be in the dark tonight because Amoateng is out with Dr. Rockrohr.
There is only one individual presentation left tomorrow. The group presentations continue in class through Friday. There is also a quiz on the church year and the Divine Service.
Look for a picture or two to be posted tonight.
The Lord be with you.
