It has pleased our Lord graciously to take Walter Felber from this valley of sorrow to Himself in heaven. On Tuesday, December 7, there will be a visitation at the church from 4:00 until 7:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 7:00. Blessed are all those who die in the Lord for they shall inherit eternal life.

The memorial service is scheduled for 11:30. The congregation is then invited to come to the Southern Wisconsin Veterans' Cemetary in Union Grove for military honors. After 30 years of teaching at Our Father's, Mrs. Eunice Plieseis has decided to retire. She has been a wonderful part of our congregation as she contributed in the areas of art and music in addition to her classroom teaching at various levels in the school. We pray the Lord's continued blessing as she enters a new phase in her life in Christ.

The voters meeting to call a new principal has been delayed a week to allow the Board of Education enough time to properly prepare the candidate list. Please join us after the late service on June 27. Continue to look for updates here over the next few days. The Board is also busy preparing a call list for a new teacher.

It has pleased our dear Lord to take Gertrude Tunks from this valley of sorrow to Himself in heaven. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. There will be a visitation on Monday evening, October 12, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 9200 S. 27th St, Oak Creek, WI. There will be an additional visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday morning, October 13, from 9:30 until 10:30. The funeral will be at Our Father's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6025 S. 27th St., at 11:00 AM. After the funeral service there will be a procession to Arlington Cemetery for the interment.

 Everyone is welcome to come and have an out of this world experience!

Higher Things will be having two conferences in 2010!

The first will be at Utah State University in Logan, Utah June 29 -July 2.

The second conference will be the following week at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee - July 6 - July 9th

Jesus does the giving, we are the ones given-to. Jesus gives His life for us on the Cross and we are given His Cross-won forgiveness in the Divine Service - in the Word, in Holy Absolution, in Holy Baptism, and His Supper. As Jesus gives us His life and salvation in the Divine Service, so we are given to pray in His Name, to praise and to give thanks unto our Father in heaven. And just as we are given the gift of Jesus in the Divine Service, so also He gives us as a gift to our neighbors.

Registration opens October 1st!

Tomorrow morning I will be boarding the plane for two weeks of teaching in Ghana. While you are all gathered on Sunday morning, I will be at the altar at Trinty Lutheran Church in Tema.

At Our Father's we are pro-life and encourage our members to act in love toward those faced with crisis pregnancies. Luther Memorial Chapel will be hosting the annual LifeWalk this year. This is an annual fundraiser that supports A Place of Refuge as they work with women in crisis pregnancy situations.
