Our Father's Gift of Love

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. 1 John 3:1 (ESV)

OK, we confess that there aren't many Lutheran churches left like ours. We aren't here to entertain you with bands, dancers, theatrical performances, and flashy computer presentations. We are here to tell you about the love of God the Father for us. Our Father's is a congregation of sinners that acknowledges that though I am the chief of sinners Jesus shed His blood for me. We have been brought together by the Father's love to be declared His holy children. Each week we gather in the Divine Service to hear the message that the Father sent His Son for us men and for our salvation. We invite you to join us each week to hear more about the Father's love for all people.

Training the Children of Our Father

That message of the Father's love is also faithfully taught in our Lutheran school so that our children may grow in faith and serve their neighbor in love. Our school offers a traditional education with a strong foundation in Lutheran doctrine. We focus on mathematics, grammar, history and science in addition to the memorization of Holy Scripture and Luther's Small Catechism.

We also support Martin Luther High School to train our children in faith toward God and love toward neighbor.

Reformation Rematch???
By prfabrizius @ 3:15 PM :: 41 Views :: 0 Comments :: Article Rating :: Trojan Times, Announcements
After a wonderful 45-12 victory over Dodgeland in the first round of the football playoffs that featured some stellar play by our own Nathan Wingfield, Martin Luther has been given a gift: home field advantage for round two.

Yes the news is correct!!!  The mighty Spartan machine will host round 2 of the football playoffs against Fond du Lac St. Mary Springs.  The Springs' program shares a field up in Fond du Lac with three other schools and one of the two schools in a higher division gets to use the field instead of Fond du Lac.  Therefore, Martin Luther will host in the second round.

Game Date:    Saturday, October 31, 2009

Site:               Gene Schneider Field...Home of the Spartans

Time:              7:00 p.m.

Opponent:       St. Mary Springs Ledgers

Game Apparel:    Wear that Green-Gold-White proudly!!!!!

Join us Friday night, October 30, at 7:00 p.m. for a pre-game bonfire!!!!

Let's show our guests how supportive we are of Martin Luther on this Reformation night.

SE Asia Storm and Earthquake Relief
By prfabrizius @ 11:21 AM :: 101 Views :: 1 Comments :: Article Rating :: Trojan Times, Announcements

People are suffering in the wake of four recent disasters in Asia, including the 7.6-magnitude earthquake that hit Indonesia September 30, originating off Sumatra and killing more than 700, with the death toll expected to rise. That tragedy is the latest in a string of disasters, including a tsunami in Samoa, flooding in the Philippines, and a typhoon in Taiwan. “LCMS World Relief and Human Care is actively engaged in assessing needs and providing assistance by working directly with our partner churches, LCMS World Mission, and the Pacific Southwest and California-Nevada-Hawaii districts,” said Rev. Glenn F. Merritt, director of Disaster Response. For more information view this video with Rev. Matthew Harrison, executive director of LCMS World Relief and Human Care. Higher Things 2010
By prfabrizius @ 12:16 PM :: 131 Views :: 1 Comments :: Article Rating :: Announcements

Higher Things will be having two conferences in 2010!

The first will be at Utah State University in Logan, Utah June 29 -July 2.

The second conference will be the following week at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee - July 6 - July 9th

Jesus does the giving, we are the ones given-to. Jesus gives His life for us on the Cross and we are given His Cross-won forgiveness in the Divine Service - in the Word, in Holy Absolution, in Holy Baptism, and His Supper. As Jesus gives us His life and salvation in the Divine Service, so we are given to pray in His Name, to praise and to give thanks unto our Father in heaven. And just as we are given the gift of Jesus in the Divine Service, so also He gives us as a gift to our neighbors.

Check out: http://www.given2010.org

Registration opens October 1st!
